The Challenge

Southwest Georgia had one of the highest per-capita rates of COVID-19 in the United States, threatening to overwhelm the area’s healthcare system. GEMA needed to increase hospital capacity to temporarily accommodate the surge created by the highly contagious virus.

Our Solution

In 4 weeks, our team converted 42 shipping containers into 2 temporary 24-bed hospital facilities. Infrastructure included medical gas delivery, a nurse call station, and a HEPA-filtered dedicated outdoor air system to meet hospital regulations.

The Results

The speed and reliability of our work allowed the project to progress from concept to finished construction in only 4 weeks, providing much-needed patient rooms for overburdened hospitals in Macon and Albany, Georgia.
