What is a PDC?
A Prefabricated Power Distribution Center (PDC) is a modular, skid-mounted outdoor housing for auxiliary facilities and all switchgear equipment. The building is shipped with all equipment fully installed, interconnected, and tested by the manufacturer. This considerably reduces installation cost and lead time as the buyer can be preparing the end site while the building is being manufactured. As with most modular applications, it greatly reduces installation and ownership costs, while protecting electrical equipment from harsh outdoor environments.

How We Build Power Distribution Centers
As a modular PDC manufacturer, BMarko Structures designs and delivers fully custom enclosures tailored to your technical requirements, electrical distribution needs, and site conditions. From containerized solutions to large-scale steel-frame builds, we help you select the right structure and guide you through every step—from design to deployment.

Containerized Modular
Power Distribution Centers
Built using ISO shipping containers, these rugged and portable units are ideal for projects where speed, flexibility, and cost-efficiency matter most. Containerized PDCs are fast to deploy, highly durable, and perfect for power distribution in remote sites, industrial facilities, and temporary operations. They’re often used for quick-turn installations, disaster recovery, or environments with limited space that still require reliable electrical infrastructure.

Steel-Frame Modular
Power Distribution Centers
For larger-scale or more complex builds, our steel-frame PDCs offer greater design flexibility and load capacity. These structures are engineered to support heavy-duty electrical and mechanical systems such as switchgear, transformers, and control equipment—making them ideal for substations, data centers, and industrial power applications that demand long-term performance and scalability.
PDC Design
Our PDC’s are custom-designed with state of the art electrical equipment and systems by our in-house engineering team in compliance with your specific specifications. BMarko specializes in both construction and power distribution equipment manufacturing and integration; ensuring that the final product is all assembled, integrated and checked before tranist, providing you with a complete turnkey solution, without sacrificing the design’s structural or electrical facets a valuable deal that most other suppliers are unable to deliver.
Depending on the application BMarko Structures builds its PDC’s either shipping containers or interlocking panel buildings. With interlocking panel buildings, exterior walls are interlocked and gasketed, which give unprecedented protection from the atmosphere in conjunction with our welded and capped roof panel design. Using a distinctive tab and slot pattern, interior panels and joiners remove the need for screws and rivets and have an aesthetically pleasing appearance. While shipping containers are limited to 20′ and 40′ standard or high cube containers, interlocking panel buildings can be purpose-built to any custom size.
Power Distribution Center Quality
BMarko’s Power Distribution Centers’ comply with the following industry standards:
- International Building Code

Double-Wide Options
For projects requiring additional space, BMarko offers double-wide PDC configurations. These expanded modules provide greater interior square footage for complex layouts, larger switchgear assemblies, or multi-system integrations—while maintaining modular transportability and strength.

Benefits of PDC Buildings
Power Distribution Centers (PDCs) are essential for housing and protecting critical electrical distribution equipment across industrial and commercial applications. They’re used to centralize and manage power for motor control systems, switchgear, and auxiliary electrical components. PDCs are ideal for operations such as data centers, oil and gas facilities, mineral extraction sites, renewable energy projects, and large-scale processing plants that demand safe, reliable, and efficient power management.
One of the latest advancements in modular construction is the integration of digital-ready Power Distribution Centers. These units are designed for remote or challenging environments where space, speed, and skilled labor availability may be limited. Whether you need a compact containerized solution or a large-scale steel-frame installation, our team will help you design the perfect PDC configuration to meet your operational requirements.
Read the main benefits below:

Reduced Lead Time
Prefabricated power distribution centers offer a ready-to-use, plug-and-play solution by lowering lead times by up to 50 percent compared to conventional stick-built construction. For civil engineering, these PDC buildings do not require complex techniques. The fact that the manufacturing process takes place in a factory suggests decreased construction delays because the development of the construction is not dependent on weather conditions, making it much easier to manage lead times.
100% Custom Designs
Another advantage is the fact that power distribution center enclosures are built custom. The design style you need, the number of units you need, and the features that meet your needs can all be unique to your order. The possibilities are almost endless as far as customizing a power distribution center building is concerned.
Cost-Effective
Cost is one of a modular PDC building’s most valuable benefits. When you consider the time to build, as well as the ‘man-hours’ on-site electrician that you save, modular construction is undeniably cheaper. A PDC building’s modular design seeks to minimize construction costs by up to 20 percent. This makes for more predictable costs and schedules when constructing the module.
Optimal Use Of Space
Another interesting feature of PDC enclosures is that they don’t require a lot of space. This makes them a smart solution for areas with difficult access. Furthermore, you can install the structure anywhere without interfering with other on-site operations due to its space-saving features.
Ship Ready-To-Use
Our modules come plastic-wrapped from our factory and ready for their jobs ahead. Transportation and installation may be given upon request.

Power Distribution Center FAQs
The production timeline depends on the project’s scale, electrical specifications, and customization level. On average, modular PDCs can be designed, fabricated, and delivered within 12–24 weeks, significantly faster than traditional onsite builds. Because construction occurs in a controlled facility, your project avoids weather delays and maintains predictable scheduling for faster deployment and commissioning.
Yes. Every BMarko PDC is engineered to order, allowing you to specify dimensions, load capacity, and internal configuration. Customization options include:
- Single or double-wide layouts
- HVAC, BARD, or ventilation systems
- Fire suppression and safety integrations
- Specialized flooring, lighting, and cabling systems

No two PDCs are alike. Each is designed for your project’s specific operational and environmental demands.
Yes. Modular PDCs are built with reinforced lifting lugs and structural supports that enable safe transport and redeployment. This flexibility is ideal for temporary sites, equipment upgrades, or facility expansions. Relocating a PDC requires only minimal site preparation at the new location, making it a cost-effective and scalable power solution.
Site needs are minimal compared to traditional power buildings.
Typically, you’ll need:
A stable, level foundation (concrete pad, piers, or skids)
Utility access (power and grounding connections)
Space for delivery trucks or cranes to set the structure in place
Since each PDC is fully assembled, wired, and tested before shipment, onsite work is limited to final connections and commissioning.
Compared to conventional construction, modular PDCs offer:
Speed – Reduced lead times due to factory fabrication
Cost Efficiency – Lower labor costs and fewer site disruptions
Quality Control – Built in climate-controlled facilities under strict QA standards
Flexibility – Relocatable and scalable as your operations evolve
Reduced Risk – Less exposure to weather delays or unpredictable site conditions
These advantages make modular PDCs a reliable and efficient choice for housing mission-critical power infrastructure.
